'Aerophobia' was an experiment. Back in the day, I was listening a lot to EDM, in particular my countrymen of Front 242, who were the originators of the genre and injected a bit of industrial and electronic colour into my otherwise guitar laden teenage years. I guess it was the fact that they managed to sound as aggressive and menacing with synthesizers and samplers as many of my heroes did with guitars that endeared my to them. To this day, songs like 'No Shuffle', 'Funkkhadafi' or 'Headhunter' (to name the most obvious tracks) sound as fresh and full of rage as they did back in the day. So when I finally got my hands on synthesizers and samplers - of the software variety, that is - I just thought to myself 'Hmmm, could I create something that pays homage to Front's 'take no prisoners' sound, now that I have this gear?

I think I managed pretty well. And even though I never took that direction and created more songs, 'Aerophobia' proves I can if I want to. And I did inject a bit of that electronic aggression into some Ahrayeph songs, so there's that.

And, lest I forget : this is an instrumental. No vocals. Doesn't need it. Just dance. Vehemently. For about two minutes.

The Twisted Psyche Of ARF came about organically, as a side project for goth rock band Ahrayeph's mastermind Raf, in which he could live out his more schizophrenic and eclectic love for music, other than his main staple.

So whenever the mood strikes him, anything goes, from blues to alternative takes on electronic music and 60's pop, and it doesn't stop there. And it all lands here.
