about
This is a collaboration for which I wrote the music - the lyrics are by my good friend Sandy Viktor Nys of Hybryds fame - and sang the male vocals on, while my dear friend and excellent singer Anne Maarit Kahelin aka Radio Finland (a term of endearment I bestowed upon her, because every evening when we'd work the evening shift together she would soothe the chaotic environment we both were working in a few years back with her angelic voice) sings the female lead part.
This track was originally meant for a short film of the same name, of which the script was a collaboration of my classmates in the Video 2 module at the TKO school where I've completed my Multimedia studies. Unfortunately, the song was deemed 'too commercial' (whatever that means; they used the moniker 'Hollywoodian', which I resent) to use in the short. Their loss, your gain...
All things considered, those who have ears and a proper sense of music history will recognise it as a thing of beauty and nowhere near as sappy as you can find on any mushy soundtrack of your run of the mill Hollywood romantic chick flick - the Twin Peaks soundtrack would be the only soundtrack I'd see this song on, which is wishful thinking on my part; but instead a tribute to magnificent artists like Serge Gainsbourg (and, of course Jane Birkin/Brigitte Bardot), The Ronettes, Françoise Hardy, the Wall Of Sound and modern day counterparts like Tindersticks, Mick Harvey and Anita Lane. Not that I'd put myself in the same category as them, but they are the inspirations behind this song.
But first and foremost, this is a celebration of the joy of love and the sense of belonging together that goes with it. As much as a lonely cynic like myself can muster up anyway. Enjoy...
lyrics
Walk, walk with me
Walk, walk with me
Beyond the end, beyond the Boundaries
Until the Day we'll be Free
So walk, my love, walk with me
Walk with me, hand in hand
Walk with me, our Last Stand and we
We'll be free
Love is coursing through my veins
Far from where the Devil reigns
So walk, walk with me
Walk!
'Till the Day we'll feel Tall and Free
So walk, My Love, walk with me

The Twisted Psyche Of ARF came about organically, as a side project for goth rock band Ahrayeph's mastermind Raf, in which
he could live out his more schizophrenic and eclectic love for music, other than his main staple.
So whenever the mood strikes him, anything goes, from blues to alternative takes on electronic music and 60's pop, and it doesn't stop there. And it all lands here.
